Good morning. After a night of snow and freezing sleet and rain we wake to what looks like a frozen tundra. Everything is covered in ice. Bob plowed the driveway last night and everything froze. It should be fun trying to get out the driveway.
The dogs all had a warm breakfast and I kept them in their runs because even the catch pen area was iced over.
I am off to get some things accomplished, stay safe.

What a start to the day. First off Bob is doing fine. His face is somewhat swollen but that is to be expected. He has been showing off his new pearly whites. I am sure in a few days once the swelling goes down his face will be back to normal. I can tell you he has had no real troubles eating soft foods.
It’s with a very heavy heart I share this. Em the Whippet that Bob and I bred 14 yrs ago has passed. Her owners Dee and Al had her from a young puppy, she always hated me. It was sort of a joke. She was loved more then anything by Dee and Al. I am grateful for the home they gave Em and for their wonderful friendship. My deepest condolensences go out to them. She is pictured on our Memorial page.
Snow, sleet and freezing rain is here, thrills. I hope the weather people are wrong this time about how much snow we are going to get. From what I understand this is the start to a snow parade( as the news person said) to several snowfall days in the next week. You have to love winter to enjoy this mess.
The dogs all seem fine this morning. I think they get all excited when they feel the snow in the air.
I wish you all a safe travel day, stay warm.

Good morning, it is a rather balmy day out. It isn’t really that cold and in a way seems very overcast with some low fog in the fields. I heard the sun is suppose to come out and tempertures are to rise in the 40’s. Tomorrow’s forecast is a different story, snow. Yes, winter brings us this lovely white stuff. Oh how I long for the spring and summer days, riding my motorcycle.
The dogs all had their breakfast. When I was out scooping Sunny spotted this little bird in the bush and was doing this adorable little woooo like a hound. It was a low bay and seemed funny coming from a Border Terrier. Sometimes those Border Terriers do some of the cutest things that make me smile. Sunny is my favorite girl anyway, she has always been mom’s baby from the time Penelope delivered her and I opened her sac. We have a special bond.
Bubba seems happy, he always is good for a good tail wagging and a lick or two.
Today is another filled day. Bob sees the oral surgeon today for some teeth to be pulled. It’s going to be soft foods and soup for a few days I think.
I hope you all have a wonderful day and by the way… I think there are only six more days of shopping before Christmas.
Wednesday December 17, 2008

Morning everyone. It’s a snowy, icy start to the day. Last evening we got maybe two inches of snow and freezing rain mixed. Coming home from Bodil’s wasn’t too bad, until we got to the two roads before our road. We got home safe which is all that matters.
I am waiting for Pumpkin’s mom to come pick her up. Sadly, I never did get to take any pictures of her. Maybe I can request one from her owner after all she is adorable and I’m sure he has a few.
Bob just brought Priscilla back in and all the cats are hissing. I give them five minutes to remember who she is and all will be well again. Prisiclla is at the food bowl already so she’s ok.
I am off to get some work completed, have a great day.
Tuesday December 16, 2008

Good morning everyone. It’s snowing what a surprise. The forecast is actually calling for some pretty nasty weather but that never really stops me from going out.
The dogs all had a nice, warm breakfast. Bubba arrived yesterday and he fits right in. I love the dogs that come back as they fall right back into my daily dog routine.
Priscilla the kitten got dropped off last night to be spayed. Bob will be picking her up tomorrow.
I am off to spend the better part of the day at the hospital complex for testing etc. so Bob will be in charge at home.
Have a good day.
Monday December 15, 2008

It’s an unsually warm morning outside today. I walked out the front door as I normally do(bundled up) and wow was I surprised at just how pleasant it was out there. It’s drizzling and after hearing the weather report out in the kennel, rain is expected.
The dogs all had breakfast and seem happy and content. Buster, will be leaving us this afternoon and I hope his owner’s keep up with his new food plan I’ve started with him. Maybe he did lose a pound ot two here.
This week is going to be very hectic, lots of pre testing for my surgery and just the hussle of Christmas at the same time is going to compound things, so bare with me.
I wish you all a good start to the work week.
Sunday December 14, 2008

Good Afternoon, it’s been really crazy here this morning so I am posting now. The sun is shining and the dogs all had a good time out. Bird, once again popped her metal staples so I covered it up and wrapped her leg. Hopefully this will stay until tomorrow when the vet is in. I think her skin is so thin the stitches and staples are just tearing through.
I had to go out for a short earlier and I’m back for the day. Bob had to take care of some Rolling Thunder business, visting Veteran’s for the holidays.
I hope you all have a good day.

Saturday December 13, 2008

It’s late morning and I just came in from the kennel. Bob and I both fed breakfast. I need to show him my morning routine so he and the dogs can get used to each other in the mornings now also since he’ll be caring for them during my recovery. We did all the morning kennel chores and at least that’s completed for now.
Later we’ll be wrapping(vacuum sealing) the dried venison and chipped venison. That should keep us busy for awhile. I know that laundry both human and dog is also on my agenda for today.
I am off to answer some e-mails, have a great day everyone.
Friday December 12, 2008

Morning everyone, it is drizzling out there this morning which is better then the snow that had been in the forecast. Actually I just looked out the window and it appears to have stopped for now.
The dogs all had their breakfast, Em gave me her usual dirty looks as I put her breakfast in her run and biscuits under her blanket.
I know many of you received my email but for those that didn’t get it I will be having a surgicial procedure the end of this month. The kennel will remain open during this time. Please allow Bob time to return telephone calls and set up drop off and pick up times. He will be doing double duty so bare with him.
I am not sure what this weekend holds for me yet. Bob, might be going out hunting weather providing I gather. So enjoy the day the weekend is almost here.
Thursday December 11, 2008

Morning all, it’s a wet morning here on the farm the rain is coming down. I heard on the radio in the kennel, starting later today we might get freezing rain and tomorrow some snow.
All the dogs had their warm breakfast. We welcomed back once again Em the Whippet and Molly the Corgi Mix. Molly was happy to see me once her mom and dad left but we all know how Em feels about me. Buster, the Chocolate Labrador Retriever has learned the kennel routine well. He waits for his breakfast and dinner and eats everything now right away. The dogs will get extra love and hugs today since they won’t be getting out in the exercise yard since it is pouring out.
I am going to grab a cup of hot coffee. I wish you all a nice day, stay dry!
