I have to share my excitement over something that might be trivial to most of you but was a HUGE issue here on the farm. Many of you know I have made a valiant effort to trap, neuter and release all the cats in the feral colony here on the farm. On Tuesday we were able to trap one female that I have tried to trap for over 3 yrs. We got her in the drop trap that I borrowed. Two nights later in the drop trap we caught the other female also 3 yrs in trying to trap her. So with the 2 females trapped, it left just one. Today when I came home from the vet I noticed the one female I rarely see and I mean rarely. She is a calico which means she is female. I gave some thought to how I can capture this mysterious feline rarely seen. I decided to set the traps up under the last pine tree along the driveway. I used dry food and a can of tuna and mackerel dinner. I set 4 traps and left them there all day with no success. Bob and I decided to take a quick run out to Cabela’s to get vacuum seal bags and when we pulled in we noticed a cat in a trap. We drove the bikes down the drive and grabbed a flashlight. The two of us walked back up to the top of the driveway to find all four traps tripped. We walked over to the first one, there was the black male already neutered so we let him out. Trap two, the lemon and white male already neutered, we let him out. Trap three the fuzzy lemon and white female already spayed, so she got let out. Now we walk over to trap number four which I covered with a towel. Bob shines the light and says who on earth is that… I said that’s her, the mysterious female we rarely see. OMG, I was jumping up and down. Could this really be the last queen in the colony. I sure hope so. Tomorrow we will transfer her into a crate like the other one(in a enclosed building of course), feed and water her and Tuesday she will be spayed with the one I call Tan Foot and the orange fuzzy kitten. This has been a long road capturing all these feral felines which do not and I repeat do not belong to us. They are the victims of a very irresponsible neighbor. We have paid for food, vet bills and spaying/neutering for close to 55 cats if not more. Amazing isn’t it. I am overwhelmed with joy and excitement knowing we have done the right thing in stopping the overpopulation of felines. PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE AND SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR COMPANION ANIMALS.
Thanks to The Cat Shack, No Nonsense Neutering and Forgotten Felines and Fidos for their continued support in my efforts.
I hope you all have a wonderful night, I know I will tonight. Heading out to the kennel now with a big smile on my face, goodnight.

Evening Update
I had a busy day today..let’s see L.A. had her staples out of course getting to the vet was a mess. Kutztown was like a parking lot. I have no idea what was going on but something at the college, then at the local Kutztown airport. I finally got there and the staples came out easily. Now to find my way home through traffic again. When I got home it was decided it was time to pick some of the corn and freeze for winter. This meant picking the corn, husking it, blanching it, cooling it all off before taking it off the cobs, bagging, vacuum sealing then freezing. This took me the better part of the day. Don’t ask me how many ears of corn I did. All I can tell you is that I packaged up off the cob over 10 lbs. of corn. Now keep in mind this is just the first batch, there will be more corn ready to pick in the days to come.
The dogs had an enjoyable day with the weather being so nice. Many of them laid outside enjoying the fresh air. I tried to take Diamond the Borzoi out but the screaming from Slash the other Borzoi got all the other dogs upset. I decided I better wait until we can do both at the same time. Denise their owner pre warned me they are difficult to seperate. It wasn’t worth one or the other getting hurt. Dakota left us today and I got some cute pictures of him just before he left. He was like a completely different dog this time. I am so very pleased he trusts me now. Take a look he was actually dancing.
It is time to grab something for dinner. I will hopefully report later at bedtime.

Good morning everyone. The sun us shining again. When I first went outside this morning there was this haze of fog but it has lifted and the sun is bright. The dogs all had their breakfast or biscuits, morning hugs of course. I am off to take L.A.for her staple removal, after a cup of coffee. Have a wonderful Saturday, yeah it’s the weekend!
