As many of you know, I dapple in paint, always have. I have had no formal art classes, just art class in high school. I guess I’ve always had that creative instinct.
This past summer I had the idea to paint my motorcycle. I thought what the heck, if it’s bad Bob will make the tins a solid color again and that will be that. Instead I created (to me) the best Otter Bike I could have. It came out amazing. It is totally handpainted, no airbrushing at all, a simple handpainted mural.
Since that time I’ve done two different Phoenix Birds, a old school Rat Fink, Daddy Fink(as he is called) and the Eck Bike which is sort of an Indian themed bike. I have several jobs in the wings but until I am recovered they will be on hold.
Bob is the brains behind all this paint work as he lays the paint(my canvas). If he didn’t do such an awesome job, my work would not be so easy. He had done automobile painting years back and his skills are still with him. Once my artwork is done he does all the finishing work and clear coating to bring it all to life. Below some photos, some are shown “in the works” others are clear coated as stated.
I will add photographics to this page as it developes, please bare with me as I am still recovering from my cervical surgery which was on January 23, 2009.
Update: A second surgerical procedure was done on March 2, 2009, due to a fracture in my neck(in the graph) and the plate moving. I am on strick bed rest until I see the surgeon early April 09.
Note: If you click on any photograph it should enlarge for you to see detail work.

Update 2/27/2010
I decided as a surprise I would paint my girlfriend Lainey’s mare ShyAnn who is very special to her. She hasn’t seen this yet and of course I am not finished but it’s getting there. I hope she will like it.
